Co.l.mar. has concluded an acoustic test campaign on thrusters for underwater vehicles (ROV/AUV) by detecting both intensity and directivity measurements.
Engineer Silvano, Co.l.mar. technician, in collaboration with Prof. Gaggero of the DITEN department – University of Genoa, carried out the tests in a 7 m deep tank used for various types of calibrations, located inside the Co.l.Mar. base in La Spezia. The tank is equipped with cutting-edge instrumentation including National Instrument hardware components and dedicated SMA software with a 4T overhead crane and air-conditioned laboratory.
The tests were carried out with the aim of identifying the most suitable engines for various types of underwater operations.
