Co.l.Mar. S.r.l. has recently completed a high-resolution coastal bathymetric survey in the Bay of Treggiano, Fiascherino (Lerici, Italy), highlighting the company’s ability to deliver advanced marine survey services alongside the design and manufacturing of hydrophones and underwater acoustic systems.
The survey—commissioned by Hotel Il Nido S.r.l.—was carried out to obtain a clear, reliable picture of the seabed in front of the concession area, providing the essential data needed to evaluate shoreline evolution and support potential coastal protection measures.
Using multibeam sonar technology and careful survey planning, Co.l.Mar. mapped the nearshore seabed over an area of roughly 13,000 m², operating in a challenging coastal setting characterised by shallow waters, rocky seabed and outcropping boulders—conditions frequently encountered along the Italian coastline, where field experience and correct equipment setup make the difference.
The survey delivered a detailed, high-resolution representation of seabed morphology, helping identify slopes, irregularities and seabed features. These outputs are valuable not only for shoreline protection design, but also for environmental assessments, feasibility studies and coastal/port engineering projects requiring accurate seabed data.
An additional point of interest is the potential presence of sensitive marine habitats (such as seagrass meadows), which further reinforces the importance of working with high-quality data and an approach that integrates technical needs with environmental awareness.
