Seabed mapping and ROV video inspection

Subsea mapping in Cinque Terre has been provided in order to preserve its coralligeneous habitat
. The Cinque Terre is located in the coastal area within Liguria in Italy and comprises five villages Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

The protected Marine Area was founded in 1997 and preludes the
National Park, founded in 1999, as an effort to protect and maintain proper usage of the sea off the Cinque Terre coastline.
Colmar made the seafloor mapping (25 sq Km). This activity was part

of the european Marine Strategy program and specifically  aimed to monitor and investigate the status of coraligenous habitat.

The whole area was covered with multibeam survey. After data analysing the most interesting areas were further investigated with ROV video inspection.
