The transfer of activities from the UK and France

“Thales transfers know-how from the UK and France to La Spezia with the creation of a Navy Service Center in the Navy Arsenal. It will be a center dedicated to the maintenance of sonars installed on minehunters and frigates of the Italian Navy. This was announced today at Seafuture by Andrea Manco, head of the Navy Service Center of Thales Italy, a structure divided between La Spezia and Taranto that provides support for all Thales systems installed on Italian Navy ships.”

Thales and its presence in Italy

“Thales Italia SpA is part of the Thales Group, a multinational headquartered in Paris and one of Europe’s leaders in the production and marketing of equipment and electronic systems for the aerospace, defense and security sectors. The Italian company has been supporting the Armed Forces for over 30 years, with a significant installed base on aeronautical, land and naval platforms: sonars, radios, electronic warfare, and navigation assistance systems.”

Partnership with Colmar and Telesub

“«In La Spezia – explains Manco – we are working with Telesub and with Colmar with whom we have signed an agreement. Colmar has the equipped acoustic tank and is therefore excellent for calibration activities, working very well in the underwater sector on the mechanical side. We will also soon sign an agreement with the Technical Institute (Itis)».”
