Supplying enviromental monitoring databuoys

Marine environment monitoring service during dredging operations, port of La Spezia Italy, 2018.

In summer 2018 Colmar won the bid for providing a water quality monitoring system of the Gulf of La Spezia with the scope of evaluating eventual effects of dredging operation. Co.l.mar. has supplied, installed and operated 3 solar powered buoys equipped with environmental sensors (turbidity, PH, Oxygen, temperature, salinity) and gsm data link. A web page was available to all the authorized authority’s to monitor the situation in real time, sms alert message were automatically sent in case of threshold level overcoming. The system worked without interruption during the 5 months period  allowing to dredge in the most safe and controlled conditions.

Enviromental databuoys management

The main goal of the marine environmental monitoring plan is to manage and to reduce any impact of human activities for dredging operations  or  to preserve sensitive habitats during  a pipeline, cable laying. CO.L.MAR. staff can perform all those monitoring activities planned  before, during and after the intervenction like CTD profiles, water and sediment sampling, ROV and video inspections.

Features

Thanks to its experience in oceanography and marine surveys, CO.L.MAR is able to supply  not only data buoys but also turn key services including  mooring system design, installation on site, data management and analysis, final reporting.

Technical specifications

Data buoys are designed to acquire, store and display a variety of oceanographic enviromental parameters.
The buoys can be equipped with a range of sensors to suit requirement for different scope of work (research, monitoring during dredging operations, meteoeceans, etc.
